A Silicon Valley customer wanted to introduce DDM to their Cadence design environment with the following requirements:
- Seamless Cadence integration
To make the Perforce/VersIC integration as un-intrusive as possible for their Cadence users a methodology was
devised enabling auto-checkout of their design-data during edit operations.
- Custom Perforce integration
The customer had 3 remote sites with connection slowness issues and some unique Perforce integration requirements.
These were handled using local meta-data mirrors, proxies and local caching techniques within VersIC.
Users needed a simple way to switch their environment between projects, P4 clients etc whilst working on multiple projects
- Custom Repository Monitoring
Monitoring design progress, customer specific sign-off requirements
- Existing Library Merging
The project had already started and needed to be merged into the managed Libraries. Software tools were developed to incorporate disparate design libraries with no-clobber/sanity checks etc
